Well, Nan Desu Kan was this past weekend in Denver, and by some miracle I actually had my Scyther costume done in time. (Not the best picture I found, but it's okay.) Over the course of the weekend, I managed to get about a bazillion pictures taken of me, and many people asked for a hug or a high-five. (High-five with scythes instead of hands. Go figure.) And also the Pokemon photoshoot was fun times. Oh, and I got a towel printed with the Dai-Gurren-dan insignia. Best towel ever? Best towel ever.

Interestingly enough, two people (Ash and a Team Rocket grunt) tried to capture me in a Poke Ball. Apparently it doesn't work as well as TV would have you believe. At least Ash's Poke Ball actually opened. Rocket-guy's just sort of bounced off.

I don't even know how this happened, but I never dehydrated over the entire weekend despite being covered in fleece with my head encased in foam on Saturday and Sunday, while both of my room-mates, who were wearing much less heat-stroke-y costumes, got sick from it and had to take most of Sunday off.

So with Scyther done, I only have to worry about making 's design of Couraster for Anime North. Already I'm thinking about how I'll top Scyther next year. I'm thinking either Zudomon or Luxray. Luxray's more likely since I don't think I could fit Zudomon's shell into my luggage, but I still want to make Zudomon for Anime North 2011.

So my friend was over at my house playing Fatal Frame 2 with me watching. And I think the game actively hates him. Behold:

My friend: "Wow, those twin ghosts were SO easy! I'm UNSTOPPABLE with this camera!"

Fatal Frame: "I'm sorry, what? That sounded like "Please have the game's villain scare me into dropping my camera and flashlight and running through a one-way door." CAN DO."

My friend: D= *cries*

That's gonna keep me amused for quite a while.

Stupid computer dying, stupid having to type on the Wii... *grumble grumble*

ANYWAY.

Found Fatal Frame 2 in a store today and picked it up 'cause I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. I'm gonna wait 'til tomorrow and play it at a friend's place, 'cause I'm not fool enough to play it alone at night when I don't know what I'm getting into. Everything I've heard/read about it suggests it's the scariest game ever made.

Also, looks like Fan Expo is upon us. I was gonna finish Asch or a plushie Gomamon for it, but then I got lazy. It's nice to take a break in any case.

Picked up Team Fortress 2 the other day, mostly 'cause everyone I know was telling me how meaningless my life is without it. Turns out it's actually really fun. The Sniper is all kinds of awesome.

Now to raise the money to buy Trauma Centre: Under The Knife 2. And also devote some time to art-ing. Stupid Jedi Outcast/Academy being way too much fun to play.

So I just noticed I haven't put any sort of AN thing here yet. Time to remedy that.

Friday:

- Cosplayed Crono from Chrono Trigger, got lots of reactions and "OMG are you going to the Chrono Trigger panel??". Really, that was the reason I brought Crono in the first place.

- Silly stayed in the hotel room finishing her costume, 'cause she's not satisfied with only three days of lost sleep and constant sewing.

Saturday:

- Costume today was Edgeworth, from the Ace Attorney series. Getting yelled "OBJECTION!" at is fun.

- Early breakfast with people, but I had to run off to the Ace Attorney photoshoot. Never seen so many lawyers together in my life.

- My phone broke so now I have to get a new one. Turns out almost everyone in my hotel room had a busted phone. Clearly there's a curse going around. Lock up your cellphones, people.

- The Masquerade started almost on time somehow. I was scared quite honestly. I went there at the posted time expecting it would be delayed for an hour, and thought I'd done something wrong when I couldn't find a line of people dying of sunburn and heatstroke. Much love for the Masq. volunteers.

- Hotel room toilet stopped working. At first we thought it was just us but it turned out the whole Radisson hotel lost toilet water pressure. I'm surprised we weren't offered a refund.

Sunday:

- Wore Joe from Digimon today, 'cause there was a Digimon photoshoot. It was lots of fun, and magically symmetrical.

- Afterwards, all the Digimon people wandered across the street and ran into a bunch of gijinka Pokemon. Well. Voices were raised, things were said, and I think a Charmander ate Mimi's hat. All in good fun though. Apparently we're all doing gijinka Digimon next year to show them up or something.

- Bought a Licensed By Royalty boxed set and some of 's art, 'cause badass!Lucario is badass.


And that was my AN experience. Much fun was had, and next year will rock even harder.
