Well, Nan Desu Kan was this past weekend in Denver, and by some miracle I actually had my Scyther costume done in time. (
Not the best picture I found, but it's okay.) Over the course of the weekend, I managed to get about a bazillion pictures taken of me, and many people asked for a hug or a high-five. (High-five with scythes instead of hands. Go figure.) And also the Pokemon photoshoot was fun times. Oh, and I got a towel printed with the Dai-Gurren-dan insignia. Best towel ever? Best towel ever.
Interestingly enough, two people (Ash and a Team Rocket grunt) tried to capture me in a Poke Ball. Apparently it doesn't work as well as TV would have you believe. At least Ash's Poke Ball actually opened. Rocket-guy's just sort of bounced off.
I don't even know how this happened, but I never dehydrated over the entire weekend despite being covered in fleece with my head encased in foam on Saturday and Sunday, while both of my room-mates, who were wearing much less heat-stroke-y costumes, got sick from it and had to take most of Sunday off.
So with Scyther done, I only have to worry about making

's design of Couraster for Anime North. Already I'm thinking about how I'll top Scyther next year. I'm thinking either Zudomon or Luxray. Luxray's more likely since I don't think I could fit Zudomon's shell into my luggage, but I still want to make Zudomon for Anime North 2011.
